A 61-year old West Point Woman died in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 275 and L Road East of Beemer just before 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Cuming County Sheriff’s Office, the woman, Ruth A. Miller, died at the scene after her 2000 Silver Nissan Ultima hit a 1999 White Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 19-year old Logan T. Brandt, of Fremont, head on in the west bound lane.
Brandt was transported to St. Francis Memorial Hospital by Beemer Rescue before being life flighted to Bergan Mercy Omaha.
The Nebraska State Patrol, West Point Police Department, Beemer Police Department, West Point Fire and Rescue, Beemer Fire and Rescue, and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office all responded and assisted at the scene.
The accident is under investigation by the Cuming County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol.
A two-vehicle accident involving an SUV and Car was reported near the Hidden Meadows Lake Area on Highway 275 just before 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
The car’s top was reportedly cut off near the tree farm and cottonwood chimes.
Traffic was detoured on County Road 9 and Beemer road.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Cuming County Sheriff’s Office, West Point Police, Beemer Police, as well as fire and rescue from West Point and Beemer have responded to the scene.
