Washington Co. Planning Board Approves 4 Of 6 Chicken Farms

The Washington County Planning Board met for more than six hours last night to discuss six applications for chicken farms in the county. They ended up approving four of the six.

A number of opponents testified against the chicken farms over concerns of economic, environmentl and safety threats.

The commission voted to approve four applications for farms near Arlington, Herman, Telebasta and Blair but denied applications for a farm outside Blair and near Herman.

The Washington County Board has the final say.
