(Audio) Veterans Honored at West Point-Beemer High School

A nice crowd attended this morning’s Veterans Day program at West Point Beemer High School.

Mayor Marlene Johnson had some opening comments.

The featured speaker was was Lonnie Ford of Pender. His son, Sergeant Joshua A. Ford was killed in 2006 during combat operations in Numaniyah, Iraq.

Students from all local schools took part in the program, providing music and carrying flags.

Veterans attending the service signed in and were included when the honor roll of veterans was read.
