A car, driven by 82-year-old John Henderson of North Platte, was eastbound on a county road when it violated the stop sign and collided with a pickup, driven by 54-year-old Royce Hiebner of Gothenburg. Hiebner’s wife, 54-year-old Brenda Hiebner of Gothenburg, was a passenger in his pickup. Both Hiebner’s and Henderson were transported to Cozad Community Hospital by Cozad Fire and Rescue. Henderson was further transferred to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney. The extent of his injuries was unknown. The Hiebner’s injuries were considered to be non-life threatening. Both vehicles were a total loss. Sheriff Reiber says the Cozad Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol also assisted.
