A three vehicle crash west of Wisner yesterday morning left a Stanton woman dead and two other people injured.
The Cuming County Sheriff’s Office says a rear end collision caused by a turning truck resulted in a ricochet collision involving three vehicles on Highway 275 near a bridge at Road 5 .
28-year-old Rachael Kucera was transported by Wisner Rescue Squad to St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point where she later died. 19-year-old Alexander Ausdemore of Wisner, was also taken to St. Francis. A third person, 28-year-old Chaundra Hasenkamp of West Point, refused medical transport, but was taken by a third party to be checked for injuries.
Kucera was a Title 1 teacher at Wisner Pilger. A crisis response team has been available at the school since the death and will continue to be available .
Pilger Fire and Rescue, the Wisner Police Department, and the Nebraska State Patrol also assisted. The accident remains under investigation.
