Stanton County Crash Sends One To Hospital

On Friday afternoon at about 2:20 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office responded to and investigated a two vehicle accident on Hwy 35 that sent one driver to the hospital and blocked the highway for about an hour.

The accident occurred when an eastbound pickup driven by Jim Wurdinger, 56, of rural Stanton pulled into the path of a northbound SUV driven by Alice Thorson, 77, of Norfolk at the intersection of 846th Road South of Hoskins.

Thorson was taken to FRHS by Hoskins/Woodland Park rescue for treatment of possible internal injuries.  Wurdinger and a juvenile passenger were not injured.

Seatbelts and airbags did deploy and are credited with lessening injuries.
