Smoke from burning ditch may have been factor in rural accident

Nobody was injured Thursday in a four vehicle accident west of Scottsbluff on County Road 19 approximately a mile south of Highway 26.

First Responders at the scene indicated smoke from a burning ditch just east of the road may have contributed to the accident. The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s office is investigating the accident with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol.

Valley Ambulance and the Scottsbluff Rural Fire Department were also at the scene to assist in treatment of those involved and to clean up debris from the accident.
