Monday was a very busy day in Stanton County District Court for Judge Mark Johnson as he sentenced several individuals and accepted guilty pleas from others. Ernie Mastny 67, of rural Stanton was sentenced to a three to eight year term in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Mastny was arrested last fall by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office following the service of a search warrant at his residence south of Stanton. Three firearms and methamphetamine was located during the search. The drug charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Todd Fisk, 59, of Troy, Iowa was sentenced to 18 months in prison for Possession of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine). Fisk was arrested earlier this year by the Sheriff’s office on Hwy 275 while driving erratically in a semi-tractor trailer.
Erman Overshiner, 55, of Norfolk was sentenced to two years in prison for Driving While Intoxicated – 3rd or subsequent offense. 2 years for Refusal to submit to a chemical test – 3rd offense, and 18 months for driving during suspension. All three sentences are to run consecutively and he will have 48 months of supervised release after completion of his prison sentence. Overshiner was arrested by the Sheriff’s office in April on Hwy 35 near Woodland Park for a traffic violation and found to be intoxicated and suspended. This was Overshiner’s seventh conviction for DWI.
Bailey Beaumont, 21, of Norfolk was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail following a Probation Violation. Beaumont was on probation for Possession of Methamphetamine following his arrest earlier this year on a traffic stop near Stanton by the Sheriff’s office. Beaumont’s probation will be continued.
Also sentenced was Teri Schultz, 36, of Stanton. She was sentenced to 18 months of Probation for Attempted Possession of Methamphetamine. She was arrested earlier this year in Stanton by The Sheriff’s office. She is also to serve 90 days in jail if not waived.
Kate Hernandez Hill, 35, of rural Stanton was sentenced to 18 months of Probation and also ordered to serve 90 days in jail if not waived. She was arrested back in February following the service of a search warrant at her residence by the Sheriff’s office.
Pleading guilty today in District Court was Chris Bouslough, 49, of Wayne who pled guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine. He was arrested by the Sheriff’s office following a traffic stop on Hwy 275 earlier this year.
Douglas Hall, 30, of Norfolk pled guilty to felony charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, Driving While Intoxicated – 3rd offense and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Hall was arrested by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office in May following a high speed chase through Stanton County that ended with him crashing near the Hwy 275 and Hwy 24 junction.
Jeremy Heiderman, 32, of Hoskins pled guilty to charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid arrest and Driving while intoxicated – 1st offense. Heiderman was arrested back in June after leading the Stanton County Sheriff’s office on a high speed pursuit through Stanton and Wayne counties before he was taken into custody.
