The Senate has passed major legislation that will dramatically change the way the VA delivers care to veterans. The bill streamlines community care programs, expands support for caregivers, and provides tools for attracting and retaining top health care providers.
Republican U.S. Senate Deb Fischer of Nebraska said she was proud to cosponsor a bill that “gives veterans the option to seek treatment when and where it makes sense for their needs. “The legislation will also provide additional resources and authorize new programs for the recruitment and retention of VA health care providers. Additionally, the bill expands the post 9/11 caregiver program to include all eras of veterans and caregivers.
President Trump is expected to sign the legislation.
