The search continues for a 23-year-old Richard Mitchell of Minatare,  who remains missing after falling into the Flathead River in northwestern Montana.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says Marissa Scott and Nathaniel Garcia- both of Gering- were with Mitchell at the time of the fall. Bell says they crossed crossed guard rails and passed warning signs at the scenic overlook. He says they worked their way down the cliff face to the east side of the scenic lookout, and that is when Mitchell fell into the river and into the swift currents.

Sheriff Bell says the search for Mitchell is ongoing and Lake County Search and Rescue has brought in a specialized dog team to assist in finding him.

Officers from Lake County and Tribal Fish and Game are still looking over the river for signs of him. Two Bear air helicopter flew the river several times  in attempt to locate Mitchell.
