A 24-year-old Scottsbluff man has been arrested in connection to a reported assault that took place on East Overland in mid-September.
Jose Lara Jr. is charged with 2nd Degree Assault after reportedly hitting a female victim in the head with a metal chair. Court documents say a NSP Trooper was flagged down after a witness found the woman unconscious in the backyard of the home with a bloody mouth and an apparent head injury.
Through the course of the investigation, Lara Jr. was identified as the suspect in the assault, and a warrant for his arrest was issued on October 9th.
Court records show that Lara Jr. is now being held at the Scotts Bluff County Jail on a $50,000 bond at 10%, and is scheduled to make his first appearance on the charge Monday afternoon.
