A modest gain in overall taxable value for Scotts Bluff County in 2016. County Assessor Amy Ramos says the overall value rose approximately $65 million dollars to $2.78 billion, a percentage hike of about two and a half percent.

Ramos says most of the increase comes from hikes in residential property values to stay in compliance with a minimum value of 92%.

Ramos says the ag land values flattened out a little with only a two to three percent increase for irrigated and dry-land crops. The value of pasture land was up about ten percent.

Ramos says if the political subdivisions keep their mill levies at a stable rate, then property owners should only see the raise in valuation impacting their taxes this year.
