Road work to begin south of Seward

SEWARD – Weather permitting, pavement and bridge repair work is scheduled to begin September 19 on Highway 15, just south of I-80, to the railroad tracks on the south side of Seward, from Reference Post 60.41 to Reference Post 66.23, according to the Department of Roads.

Constructors Inc., of Lincoln, has the $4,235,551 contract which includes grading, culverts, pavement repair, milling, asphalt, guardrail replacement and repair of four bridges. During construction, traffic will be controlled with one-lane work zones and reduced speeds, facilitated by temporary traffic signals, pilot vehicles and flaggers. There will be an 11-foot width restriction. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of October.

The Department of Roads’ project manager is Joe Kuehn of Lincoln. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously through the construction work zone.
