Governor Pete Ricketts announced Monday he is planning a trade mission to Mexico in August.
Ricketts says Mexico represents the second largest North America agricultural export market for Nebraska, with nearly $1 billion in ag products going to Mexico.
Ricketts says,” Our largest exports to Mexico are corn, soybeans and beef. We want to go there and thank them for their business and try to expand on that relationship.”
$132 million of the state’s ag exports to Mexico are beef. Ricketts says if anybody has an interest on going on the trip, they should contact the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.
