Sunday brought a host of severe weather elements to the region.

Hail and strong winds were reported in many areas including Kimball, Banner, Scotts Bluff, Box Butte, Garden and Deuel Counties. Especially hard hit was Morrill County.

There were reports from south and southwest of Bridgeport of 2 to 3 inch size hail.

Strong winds and hail raked across Lake McConaghy derailing 7 cars from a Union Pacific Train on the north side of the lake.

Storms disrupted campers at Big Mac as well as at Lake Minatare and Bridgeport State Lakes.

15 miles north of Potter in Cheyenne County, a land-spout tornado touched down in open country and was in contact with the ground for less than five minutes before dissipating.
