Public meeting Monday evening on proposed Scottsbluff 1/2 cent sales tax

The City of Scottsbluff will host a public meeting this evening  (Monday) to share important information with residents regarding the proposed additional half-cent sales tax for improvements on the November 6th ballot.

City Manager Nathan Johnson told KNEB News the meeting is to inform and educate citizens on the ballot question, the projects they hope to accomplish, and the nuances of entering into an inter-local agreement with another political subdivision, which is the C.R.A., or Community Redevelopment Authority.

Johnson pointed out that money from the tax would not fund the CRA, but would be used for various infrastructure projects and improvements throughout the city.

Johnson said they are hoping to do a better job of letting people know exactly what the money from the tax would be used for if passed this time around

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Scottsbluff City Hall, 2525 Circle Drive.
