The former Hiram Scott College student planning to produce a movie about his experiences at the college with the Vietnam War as an underlying theme says he has a script and he is ready to pitch it to studios and investors.

Mark Donahue of DRW2 Media Group plans to be in Scottsbluff June 26th through the 30th to take video, still pictures, talk to former students, and do read-throughs of the script as he gets a feel for possibly producing the movie here.

Donahue, who attended Hiram Scott in 1965 and 1966 and played on the first basketball team, says the college was used by students, many of them from the eastern part of the United States, to avoid being drafted into the Vietnam War. But he says they received a warm welcome by residents and that will be part of the movie.

The script involves five young people graduating from high school, one who later dies in Vietnam. The other four attend Hiram Scott to avoid the war and have a reunion later where they relive their college days and the impact the war had on them.
