Sgt. Chris Baer tells KNEB News that 57-year-old Michael Sullivan of Bridgewater, Connecticut was eastbound and was turning north onto private property.

Sullivan was then struck by a semi driven by 19-year-old Jesus Garza, of Alliance.

Sullivan was airlifted to Regional West after AirLink landed on the highway, and the female passenger was transported by Valley Ambulance. The name of the female passenger has not been released at this time.

Garza was uninjured, but was cited for following too closely.

The Minatare/Melbeta Fire Department assisted authorities at the scene.
