A delegation from University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds office was in Scottsbluff Monday for a tour of the Panhandle Research and Extension Center. They also had meetings with local community leaders including discussions about the university’s impact in Western Nebraska.
Dr. Susan Fritz, University of Nebraska System Provost told KNEB News that she is continually impressed with work being done at the center that ties in directly with producers.
Fritz said that she is aware that state lawmakers will be looking for places to make cuts during their upcoming Legislative session. Fritz says they will be paying close attention to where cutbacks will occur. But she noted the University system offers definite value for the money invested by the Legislature.
Fritz said she was really pleased with the high caliber of staff and administration at the Center.
