Northeast to offer Classes at West Point, Norfolk, and South Sioux City Campuses at end of month

Northeast Community College is offering courses at its West Point, Norfolk, and South Sioux City Campuses in late March. Class information can be found below:

 

WEST POINT – Northeast Community College will offer a class later this month that teaches introductory video production skills.

Videography (ARTS 5143/18S & CRN #70204) will meet Monday, March 26 from 6:30-9:30 p.m., in the Northeast Community College Extended Campus, Room 206, 202 Anna Stalp Avenue.

This class introduces participants to single-camera video production with in-class demonstrations and hands-on projects. Participants will learn how to operate a video camera properly using the correct settings. Minimal post production, which consists of placing a video onto media for playback, will also be covered.

Cost of the class, with Derek Buck the instructor, is $30.

NORFOLK – The Allied Health Department at Northeast Community College in Norfolk has announced a free, one-session workshop for emergency medical service technicians, meeting later this month.

The workshop is offered for three continuing education credits. The topic of the workshop is School Shootings and will be held Monday, March 26, from 7-10 p.m. at the Elgin Fire Hall.

This program is funded in whole or in part with funds provided through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Office of Emergency Health System.

NORFOLK –A new course for those interested in improving their customer service skills will be offered by Northeast Community College next month.

Customer Service Excellence (BSAD 5150/18S & CRN #70098) will meet Tuesday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce, 609 W. Norfolk Ave., in Norfolk.

In today’s competitive environment, businesses can’t stop at gaining new customers; they must be relentless at retaining customers through exceptional customer service. This seminar will teach basic customer service principles that anyone with customer contact can apply to increase customer satisfaction and retention.

Cost of the course, with Julie Younkin the instructor, is $120.

WEST POINT – Northeast Community College in West Point has scheduled a class that will introduce women to vital self-defense skills.

Self Defense For Women (HPER 5120/18S & CRN #70171) meets Wednesday, March 28, from 6-9 p.m., in the wrestling room at West Point-Beemer High School, 1200 E. Washington St., in West Point.

This class is designed to teach women to deter and defend themselves from attackers and to ensure the ability to get away from an attack safely. Participants will perform hands-on techniques to develop simple, effective and retainable methods of self-defense.

Participants are asked to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and proper foot attire. No jewelry is allowed. Cost of the class, with Cory Krause the instructor, is $30.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY – Northeast Community College in South Sioux City has scheduled a class that will introduce students to a fun way to keep fit.

Zumba! (HPER 5115/18S & CRN #70073) meets Thursdays, March 29-April 19, from 5:30-6:15 p.m., in Room 126C of the South Sioux City Extended Campus, 1001 College Way.

A combination of Latin dance and other forms of dance fitness, Zumba is easy to learn and always a blast. Join Instructor Jenny Durant as she covers easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program.

Cost of the class is $30.
