Lincoln, Neb. — The Nebraska State Patrol responded to more than 100 weather-related incidents Sunday from midnight to 6:30 p.m. CT.
That includes 20 crashes and 70 motorist assists, such as slide offs and stranded vehicles. One of the accidents involved an injury near Waverly Sunday morning on I-80 when a semi jackknifed on the roadway.
A short time later another semi lost control and struck the trailer of the first semi.
There was also a serious crash on Highway 71 between Scottsbluff and I-80. An SUV left the road, rolled through the snow-packed median and southbound lanes before resting on its wheels.
Four people were taken to the hospital, including three juveniles. The driver was later life flighted to another hospital.
