Nebraska Holds Tourism Conference In Nebraska City
The Nebraska Rural Radio Association is one of the sponsors of the “2018 Nebraska Tourism Conference.”
It’s going on through this Thursday at the Lied Conference Center in Nebraska City.
Tourism is Nebraska’s third-largest industry, according to John Ricks, Executive Director of Nebraska Tourism.
Ricks told KTIC News that the conference is mainly an information-exchange between many statewide businesses and organizations interested in growing tourism.
Ricks added that many Nebraskans stay in the state for vacations, but now Nebraska Tourism is marketing  in other regions to draw more out-of-state visitors.
Northeast Nebraska has many tourist attractions such as Ponca State Park, rivers and lakes which Ricks said are growing in popularity.
