A 9-year-old Colorado boy hospitalized with “significant injuries” after a boating accident at Lake Minatare Monday afternoon is in critical condition at a Denver area hospital. That’s the word from Nebraska Game and Parks Conservation Officer Sean McKeehan, who was informed of the youth’s condition Wednesday by a family member.
The boy was flown to the Colorado hospital after being treated initially at Regional West Medical Center.
Officials say the boy was injured after a relative pulled up to a dock and put the boat in reverse, and then struck the boy, who had fallen off a paddleboard.
Authorities say alcohol does not appear to have played a role in the accident.
