Hausmann Construction of Lincoln has been chosen by the Gering School Board to be the construction manager at risk for the planned renovations to Gering High School.
Superintendent Bob Hastings says they had a good group of prospective contractors completing for the project. But he said Hausman, which is also the contractor on the Scottsbluff High addition, has done quality projects throughout the state and that made them the choice.
The project will be funded by the $24 million bond issue passed by Gering patrons last spring.
Space will be added to the high school to bring 9th graders up from the junior high, major physical upgrades to the HVAC system, a more secure front entrance area, and other renovations are part of the project.
