A 29-year-old Gering man is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Scotts Bluff County detention center after trying to run from deputies serving a warrant for his arrest.
Rusty Dobrinksi was arrested Thursday afternoon after a brief foot pursuit on the west side of town.
A warrant for his arrest was issued earlier in the month after he was identified as a suspect in a rash of thefts across the Panhandle. On Thursday, investigators saw Dobrinski walking southbound on Avenue I and told him to stop.
Instead, Dobrinski ran eastbound onto West 23rd Street and threw a black cellphone box over a fence. Deputies finally apprehended him and handcuffed him. The box was found, and had more than 12 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and plastic baggies.
He was booked into the jail on the charges of: Theft by Taking, Trespassing, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Dobrinksi made his first appearance on the charges on Friday morning in Scotts Bluff County Court.
