The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a brief pursuit Friday. The situation started around 10:43am when they responded to a report of a man refusing to check-out and leave a Cambridge motel. The man had also made some unusual statements. He was gone before deputies arrived but, around noon a deputy located the suspect vehicle in Holbrook. The deputy made contact with the driver but, the driver then drove away and was clocked at speeds of 88mph in a 65mph zone. The vehicle then stopped about 4 miles east of Arapahoe where the subject refused to exit the vehicle. Deputies broke out the window according to a news release and was able to remove the man from the vehicle. The 51-year-old North Platte man was placed into emergency protective custody and transported to a facility in Kearney.
