Including the cities of Onawa, Mapleton, Hartington, Laurel, Randolph, Coleridge, Pender, Macy, Walthill, Winnebago, Pierce, Plainview, Osmond, Wayne, Albion, St. Edward, Norfolk, Stanton, West Point, Wisner, Tekamah, Oakland, Lyons, Decatur, Columbus, Schuyler, Fremont, and David City.

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of west central Iowa and Nebraska, including the following areas, in west central Iowa, Monona.

In Nebraska, Boone, Burt, Butler, Cedar, Colfax, Cuming, Dodge, Madison, Pierce, Platte, Stanton, Thurston, and Wayne.

* Until 10 PM CDT this evening

* Additional rounds of heavy rainfall are expected across the watch area through early this evening with potential for rainfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour. Localized total rainfall amounts of additional rain from half an inch to 2 inches or more could occur.


A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

* Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Cuming County in northeastern Nebraska...
  Colfax County in northeastern Nebraska...
  Platte County in northeastern Nebraska...
  Northwestern Dodge County in east central Nebraska...
  Northern Butler County in east central Nebraska...
  Southern Stanton County in northeastern Nebraska...

* Until 915 PM CDT Monday.

* At 1214 PM CDT, the public reported flooding across portions of Platte, Colfax and Dodge counties. Heavy rains from last night and today have led to widespread flooding.  Many roads are underwater, please use caution when traveling in these areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include:
Columbus, Schuyler, Clarkson, Dodge, Howells, Bellwood, Leigh, Duncan, Platte Center, Monroe, Creston, Humphrey, Rogers, Richland, Tarnov, College View Trailer Park, Camp Pawnee, Lake North Babcock
Campground, Circle H Trailer Park and Camp Luther.
