As flood waters gradually began to recede Wednesday in parts of northeast Nebraska, other areas are just reaching their peak.
In Burt county, Logan Creek on the west side of Oakland spilled into the park Tuesday and early Wednesday.
Camping areas, athletic fields and parts of the Burt County Fairgrounds are underwater.
The Oakland swimming pool is closed.
The towns’ beautiful golf course now has dozens of unwelcome water hazards added by Mother Nature.
Though many flood warnings expired Wednesday morning, the left-over impacts are very evident in towns like Pender, West Point and Oakland.
Hot weather will return Thursday, but forecasts indicate an unwelcome return of rain chances over the upcoming weekend.
