A fatal crash north of Wheatland has resulted in the death of a 50 year old Denver man. The crash occurred just before 9:30 Tuesday evening on Interstate 25 approximately 16 miles north of Wheatland.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Raymond Hahn of Denver was riding a 1979 Harley Davidson three-wheeled motorcycle northbound on I-25 in a construction zone with both north and southbound traffic traveling in the two lanes normally used for northbound traffic only.
The Patrol says Hahn’s motorcycle crossed the centerline and collided with multiple traffic control pylons dividing the two lanes of travel.
After colliding with the pylons, the motorcycle tripped and rolled before it collided with a southbound 2015 Ford Expedition driven by a 52 year old Cody man.
The collision with the motorcycle caused the Ford to lose control and sent it across the northbound lane of travel and into a section of guardrail on the east shoulder of a bridge deck.
Hahn was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries on scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No one else was injured in the accident.
Drug use is being investigated as the contributing factor in this crash.
