Scotts Bluff County Clerk Vera Dulaney says the early voting turnout for next week’s general election is at a pace that is better than normal.
Already nearly 1,700 people have cast early ballots, which is around 7% of the 24,000 registered voters in the county. Dulaney says at this point she has no specific reason why people are a little more interested in voting in this election.
Dulaney said,” I haven’t been able to determine the reason for the hike in early voters but there has definitely been an increase. But apparently there one or two races or issues people are interested in.”
There was only an 18% turnout for the primary.
