Development of the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit restaurant in Gering will occur shortly after the first of the year, according to TCD Community Development Director Sean Overeynder.
Overeynder says the franchise has a preferred location but is not ready to announce it at this time because the architect is still reviewing the site and whether it will be profitable before the restaurant makes it public.
Overeynder says he expects construction at the chosen site to begin in a late January, February time frame.
Dallas based Dickey’s is the nation’s largest barbecue chain with 563 locations in 43 states. Overeynder says L.B. 840 funds will be used to assist with development of the restaurant.
