A threat aimed at Wyoming state facilities and schools on Thursday has been deemed uncredible, and things are getting back to usual at Eastern Wyoming College.

Eastern Wyoming College received a statewide announcement to state facilities and schools regarding an anonymous threat that stated that pipe bombs, explosives and napalm had been rigged throughout the state. The message concluded that, “Today Wyoming will be turned to dust!”

On Thursday evening, EWC’s College Relations Director Tami Afdahl said the schools Torrington and Douglas campuses had both been checked by local law enforcement and there did not appear to be any danger.

Afdahl added college officials do not now believe that the threat is credible but decided to take precautionary measures for students and employees.

Both campuses are open with normal operations on Friday, and any changes or further updates will be posted on the EWC website and social media pages.

The Wyoming Department of Homeland Security continues to investigate into who sent the threat.
