Gering officials say the traffic changes made around Oregon Trail Park to accommodate the Western Nebraska Pioneers were accepted well by the public Tuesday night.

But City Planner Annie Folck says Police will be out in the area again the next couple nights and the city will have signs trying to push more of  the spectators for the new team to park east of the stadium.

Folck said  a lot of people did not use the additional parking on Overland Trails Road opening night, which  meant congestion in the neighborhoods  on the west side of the park.

Folck says there is a nice walkway from Overland Trails Road to the entrance on the east side of the park so people don’t have to worry about muddy conditions due to the recent wet weather.
