Western Nebraska Community College today announced that it has received a $25,000 gift from Bytes Computer & Network Solutions to support student success. As part of the WNCC Works: Expanding the Possibilities campaign, the gift will enable the college to expand SMART classroom technology on its Scottsbluff campus. One of the upgraded classrooms will also be renamed the Bytes Computer & Network Solutions classroom in honor of the gift. The campaign will support workforce development in the panhandle, and help additional student success through scholarships and updated facilities.

“Bytes is very excited to be able to help WNCC with the Expand the Possibilities campaign,” said Todd Lewis, Bytes Computer Network Solutions President/CEO. “They play such a vital role in our community to foster the growth of our future workforce and business leaders. By investing in our community we are investing in our future. We are so lucky to have a community partner with such capability and vision to help shape the minds of our youth,” he said.

Bytes Computer & Network Solutions is a tech sales, IT solutions, and managed services company located in Scottsbluff, Neb. They offer proactively managed network services, IT projects, custom applications, security, backup and disaster recovery, on-site & remote support, and more to businesses and individuals. Started in 2001 by Todd and Darrell Lewis, Bytes continues to work towards providing the best and most reliable IT solutions, managed services, support, application development, and service available.

The donation came in the midst of the fundraising campaign for the college, which will extend through the fall of 2016. This year also marks the landmark 90th anniversary of Western Nebraska Community College. The campaign has raised $8,200,000 so far, more than 90 percent of its goal. WNCC joins many community colleges that have launched campaigns to raise private donations and individual giving.

“This investment will create a learning space in which students can not only learn, but be engaged in order to foster greater success,” said WNCC President Todd Holcomb. “To keep pace with a rapidly changing global economy and emerging technologies, students need to learn using the same technology tools they’ll encounter on the job. We are very thankful to Todd Lewis and the entire Bytes team for supporting these technology upgrades and being a great community partner,” he added.
