Scottsbluff’s Recreation & Events Supervisor has been named the 2016 Nebraska Recreation and Parks Association “Professional of the Year.”

Triniti Burgner was recognized in the field of recreation and events for her outstanding accomplishments. The organization recognizes professionals for their achievements in their field each year at their annual state conference, which was held at the Strategic Air Command Museum and Mahoney State Park.

Parks & Recreation Director Perry Mader says Burgner still works in recreational areas like aquatics, softball league and other activities. But he says her focus has shifted more over the past couple of years to working on events for the city. Events like their Harvest Night, Jingle Jog, which was extremely successful in it’s inaugural year, and longtime events like the Easter Egg Hunt. He says there are also new events on the horizon that Burgner has been instrumental in putting together.

Burgner, who has been with the city of Scottsbluff for 15 years, was also recognized for her skills in training, supervising and development of staff as well as her volunteer work in the community.
