It will probably be another month before the Scottsbluff Burger King reopens.
Calvin Keller, who owns the restaurant along with Diane Morehead, says insurance inspectors and adjustors are expected to be here this week to review the damage from an early April fire. Once they give their approval, construction is planned to begin next week, possibly as early as Monday.
Keller says the fire was not a grease fire as first reported but one that got up into the rafters and caused considerable smoke and fire damage. Keller says he plans to have someone replace the concrete on the driveway to the restaurant as well during the break.
The restaurant has been the subject of a couple burglary attempts in addition to the fire since it opened in December of 2014.
