The Nebraska State Patrol says two people were sent to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of County Roads 37 and R on the Scotts Bluff/Morrill county line Wednesday afternoon at about 2:15 p.m.

Investigators say an eastbound silver Toyota pickup driven by 42-year-old Kelly Strickler of Minatare failed to yield the right of way and struck the northbound white Chevrolet pickup driven by 64-year-old Laverne Meyer of Bayard.

Meyer was taken from the scene by ambulance, while Strickler was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. Both were reported in stable condition at Regional West Medical Center as of Thursday afternoon.

The NSP says both vehicle suffered ‘heavy’ front-end damage. Deputies from Scotts Bluff and Morrill County had also responded to the scene.
