Some West Point residents continue to struggle with water quality issues. At times it comes out of the faucet with a dirty, rusty look to a mild yellowish orange tinge.  Some people see it early in the morning-then it goes away-and comes back later.

City Administrator Tom Goulette  tells the KTIC newsroom General Filters, the manufacturer of the water filters will clean and inspect the water tanks around mid-January.  The city has also been doing iron and manganese profiles on the filters and tests on  water samples.  Complaints and water samples should be dropped off at the city offices.

Newly elected Mayor Bruce Schlecht and council members Emma Stokely, Rusty Smith and Jerry Hugo were sworn into office at Tuesday’s council meeting.
