The Wisner City Council this week continued ongoing discussions about a proposed water project that would include a new well, water tower, mains and water lines at a cost of an estimated $4.5-million.
The financing would be through the state’s revolving loan fund which has a 25 percent debt forgiveness.
How to pay back the loan is the issue. City Administrator Al Vacanti says it could be paid back through water rate increases or a combination of that and a 1/2 cent increase in the sales tax. That would require a ballot issue.
