The West Point City Council received an update Tuesday from Advanced Consulting Engineering Services on some options for the water system. The council voted to move ahead with the replacement of some filters rather than change out some of the media in the filters. It’s expected to cost around $775,000.
The council also received an update on the Emerald Ash Borer situation from Parks Board member Dave Wimmer. About 18 percent of the trees in public areas in West Point are ash trees and they could all be gone in 8 to 15 years once the borer is detected in town. It’s already made its way to Fremont.
