The Pierce County Fair Board and District Meeting will be held on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Pierce County Fair Pavilion. Kathy Lauer, from the Fair Board, says there will be a social hour, meal, and guest speaker. “That day we’ll just have a little social hour starting at 5. You do pay just for the meal, which will be at 6:30. Our speaker will follow. There will be just a really short district regular meeting after the speaker so people wouldn’t need to stay for that unless you’re interested in what’s going on at the area county fairs.”

People can RSVP by contacting Lauer through the fair email, fairinfo@piercecountyfair.org.

Lauer says the guest speaker is from Kansas. “Scott Sproul, he’s the President and CEO of the Northwest Kansas Economic Center, located in Norton, KS. He is also the President of the Lenora Jubilee Association in Lenora, KS.”

Lauer says Sproul serves 26 counties in Kansas for project development, workforce development, and public relations.

This year’s Pierce County Fair will be held August 1st through the 5th at the fairgrounds in Pierce.  Lauer says the fair will include Casey Donahew and a Demo Derby. “Nebraska Bush Pullers is back, which everybody loves. Double S Extreme Bull Riding is back. Semi truck show, which we haven’t had for a couple years. Then we have Casey Donahew on Saturday night. And we have Full Choke that will follow in the beer garden after him, which hasn’t played in this area for some time. Our ever famous demolition derby. So just check us out at piercecountyfair.org.”

Lauer, says the fair, which is usually held in July, was moved to accommodate both the entertainment and carnival.
