The Oakland Pool opened up for the summer on Tuesday. Manager Lauren Persson says things going on at the pool this summer include a pool party and swimming lessons. “Well we are doing a beginning of the summer pool party this Friday from 6:00-10:00 in the evening. And it’s $5 a piece. And then we are doing swim lessons June 11th through 15th. And those are from 10-12.”
Persson says Anytime Fitness is running an Aqua Fitness Class on Thursday evenings starting June 14th.
More information can be found on the Oakland Pool Facebook Page or by calling the pool at 402-685-5374.
Persson adds 50-60 people showed up to the pool the first day it was open, and swam for an hour before storms hit.
Persson says there are breaks every hour of swimming. “From 1:00-5:00 p.m. we take a break at 10 til every hour. And then from 5:00-6:00 p.m. the guards get a dinner break so we send all the kids home, but we still do an adult swim for 18 and older. They can go and pretty much have the pool to themselves. And then from 6-8 is open swim again for everybody. And again it’s 10 til the hour for breaks.”
Persson says there’s also adult swim time from noon to 1:00 p.m.
The pool has family passes for $125 and individual passes are $65. Daily admission for those 13 and over is $5, 6-12 $3, and 5 and under free.
The pool features a diving board and slide as well as zero depth entry, according to Persson.
