Christ Place Church in West Point has created a new group called MOPS, which stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. Co-Leader Ashley Robinson.
“It is for Moms of preschoolers, but it also includes Moms with kids from pregnancy through kindergarten. And basically MOPS is a group where Moms can come, and you can just drop your kids off, we have childcare provided. And then you can come in and grab hot brunch that we provide, you can grab hot coffee, which is nice when you’re a Mom of young ones. Your coffee does not stay hot ever. And then it’s all about fellowship and meeting other Moms that are going through the same tough time when your kids are young and you just want to pull your hair out.”
Robinson says the first MOPS meeting will be held on September 28th from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. A meet and greet will be held this Thursday night from 5:00-7:00 p.m., also at the church.
She adds there will be a speaker in November.
Interested Moms can register online.
“We have a MOPS Facebook page, and our registration is up there. And you can also contact Christ Place Church to get more information or to sign up. Moms can register or join at anytime. You can show up to a meeting and we can help you get registered. Or you can go to our Facebook page, and our registration is on there, and you can just sign up,” Robinson said.
Robinson says the group will meet the second and fourth Thursdays of each month in the morning.
She adds Night OWL, or night out with the lady, events will be posted on the Facebook page.
