The Tekamah Swimming Pool is in full swing for the Summer. Manager Michelle Tobin. “We are open from 12-7 for the general patrons. And we take a 10 minute break every 50 minutes. And from 7-8 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we do water aerobics. Along with Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays we have pool parties available.”
Tobin says water aerobics cost $45 to join. Pool parties are $75 for an hour, $95 for an hour and-a-half, and $125 for two hours.
She adds a group swim session is scheduled from 11:00-11:30 a.m. June 25th through the 29th, and a second group swim lesson session may be added depending on interest.
The pool, which has a 280,000 gallon pool, a baby pool, slides, and diving boards, will be closed on June 15th and 16th due to the unavailability of lifeguards due to sporting events.
The pool is hosting a Firecracker Color Run on the 4th of July. “Well the Tekamah Pool Task does a 4th of July Firecracker Color Run, and that is at 8:00 a.m. on the 4th of July, and it starts at the Tekamah City Auditorium with registration beginning at 7:30. Entry forms are available at the Tekamah City Office and here at the pool. And you can also register the day of the event,” Tobin said.
Tobin says a Glow Party that will be a night swim will also be held later this summer, but a date on that has not been set yet.
Family passes are $90, Individual passes for under 18 is $50, over 18 $65, Senior Citizen pass $50, and Daily Admission is $5, according to Tobin.
The hope is to have the pool open 7 days a week through the end of July, and on Saturdays and Sundays in August through Labor Day.
