Cuming County Economic Development has partnered with Rebuilding Together out of Fremont to help low income families with home repairs. Executive Director Kelly Gentrup says a series of Lunch & Learns will be held in the County. “So what we want to do is host these Lunch & Learns to kind of first establish the need, how many homes could benefit from a program like this. The Executive Director of that organization will be coming and talking about rebuilding together, who they help, what they do, and then how we as a Community can be an Investment Partner for these low income home repairs.”

The first Lunch & Learn will be held at the Nielsen Center in West Point on Monday. There will also be Lunch & Learns on Tuesday at Ritter Feedlot Office in Beemer, April 13th at the Lodge in Wisner, and April 17th in Bancroft in the lower level of the Community Auditorium. All Lunch & Learns will start at 11:00 a.m.

Cuming County Economic Development is currently accepting applications for business grants. “Just a little bit of information from the first round. We did assist over 12 businesses, and the total investment for those improvements was over $144,000. So I think that’s an incredible thing, and we’re so happy to help businesses continue to be successful even if it’s a little goes a long way. So we are in our second round already, and those applications are due the beginning of June. The first Friday in June,” Gentrup said.”

More information on the grants can be found on the Cuming County Economic Development Facebook page.
