(Audio) Cuming And Burt County Public Power Districts To Hold Public Meeting Today

The Cuming and Burt County public power districts are holding a public meeting at 9 am this morning (Wed) at the Nielsen Center to discuss a proposed merger.

Information  from a study conducted by the National Rural Utilities Cooperatives Finance Corp. will be presented.

CCPPD General Manager Chet McWhorter says based on that information he thinks a merger could be mutually beneficial.

CCPPD board member Ed Kaup oppposes a merger.

Not vote will be taken today.

Even  if approved by both boards, it would still need approval from the public and the power review board, according to McWhorter.
