YORK – The Nebraska Diplomats held their Passport to Nebraska banquet Friday evening, which recognizes businesses and cities for their economic activities in Nebraska. Governor Pete Ricketts was on hand to present the Diplomats’ annual awards. The City of York was awarded one of two Community of the Year awards for their outstanding economic development over the past year.

York County Development Corporation, Executive Director Lisa Hurley, said it’s a city award and everyone worked together to earn it.

The City of York received the small Community of the Year award, while Bellevue took home the large Community of the Year award.
