The 3rd Annual Cub Cadet Golf Program will be held in June at Indian Trails Golf Course in Beemer. West Point-Beemer Head Coach Keith Eriksen says attendees will get more individual instruction this year. “This year we’re actually really excited. We are going to team up this year with Indian Trails and their fine staff up there. So we’ll have a little bit more Adult Supervision on staff, that way we can get a bunch of different sessions going on with the kids. Break them up into smaller groups so they get some more one on one time, and hopefully learn more about the game of golf.”
Eriksen says attendees will learn the basics about golf such as etiquette, stance, and rules.
The camp, which will be held from June 18th through the 22nd, is for any West Point-Beemer or surrounding area students going into grades 3-12.
Attendees will be at the course from 1:00-3:00 p.m. each of those days. Transportation will be provided from West Point-Beemer Elementary School with the bus leaving at 12:45 and returning at 3:30 p.m. each day.
Eriksen says kids should wear casual summer clothes. “Just some basic things to wear just t-shirt and shorts is fine. Tennis shoes is fine, that’s all they need, and then we will take care of the rest. If they have clubs they’re encouraged to bring them…if they don’t we will provide that for them.”
Eriksen says kids are not allowed to wear baseball or football cleats, or cutoff shirts.
The cost is $35 for one student, or $50 for two.

West Point-Beemer’s Golf Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, June 24th at Indian Trails. Eriksen has the details. “June 24th is our 4-person fundraiser. And what that does that goes to our girls and boys golf programs to help them out with the many costs of those with the game of golf. That’s an 11:00 tee time. Men’s, Women’s and Mixed flights are encouraged. You can call the Pro Shop and sign up with Adam, or again you can email and sign up through me as well.”
Eriksen says money raised will go towards things like polos, golf balls, uniforms, umbrellas, and practice rounds.
