A Wintry Mix of Weather For West Point This Morning

There are no watches or warnings in  effect for the Cuming County area for now but we’re expected to see a mix of rain  and sleet with  snow this morning, becoming all snow later this afternoon .  Up to a half inch is possible with temperatures falling  to around 24 by 5 pm.  Winds will increase to as much as 25 miles per hour gusting  to 34. Snow will continue tonight and tomorrow morning.

Most of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa will see a lot of rain today but about 4 inches to a foot of snow is expected for parts of central and western Nebraska. And a blizzard warning is in effect for portions of the Dakotas. If you’re heading west, a stretch of I-80  is under a winter storm warning from about Grand Island to the Nebraska Panhandle could see blizzard like conditions as well. And there could be a glaze of ice.
