A few more classes are scheduled to be held in November at Northeast Community College’s Campuses in West Point and Norfolk. Class information can be found below.

 

NORFOLK – The Allied Health Division at Northeast Community College in Norfolk will offer a CPR Instructor Course beginning soon.

The course (HLTH 1720/18F & CRN #15433) will meet Saturday and Sunday, November 10 and 11, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Arlo Wirth building, Room 101, on the Northeast campus.

CPR instructor training for those currently qualified in basic life support. This course includes background materials, teaching techniques and aids to enable individuals to instruct others in the knowledge of local emergency care systems, understanding risk factors, signals and actions for survival, and recognition of indications for life support and accurate performance of the same.

Class participants must have a current AHA BLS CPR card. The required textbook is available at the Hawks Shop, which is located in the Student Center, (402) 844-7140.

Cost of the class, with Trever O’Brien the instructor, is $116.

NORFOLK – The Allied Health Division at Northeast Community College in Norfolk will offer a Basic Life Support (BLS) renewal course for healthcare providers in November.

BLS for Healthcare Provider Renewal (HLTH 5305/18F & CRN #60126) will be held Wednesday, November 14, from 6-10 p.m. in Room 101 of the Arlo Worth Building.

Designed for a wide variety of healthcare professionals, this course is designed to refresh skills related to recognizing several life-threatening emergencies, providing CPR, using an AED and relieving choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Participants are asked to bring their current certification card to the class.

The required textbook is available at the Hawks Shop at the Northeast Student Center, (402) 844-7140.

Cost of the class, with Bradley Korth the instructor, is $40.

WEST POINT – A class on preparing vinaigrette dressings is coming to Northeast Community College in West Point in November.

Dress Up Your Dressings (HOEC 5105/18F & CRN #60300) meets from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, at Northeast’s West Point extended campus, 202 Anna Stalp Avenue, in Room 211.

This course is a fun, informative session that will teach participants the basics of making, storing and using vinaigrette dressings, whether for salads or other dishes. A take-home sample will be provided.

Cost of the class, with Nikki Hagedorn the instructor, is $30.
